beholden

OMG! Okay, first thing's first, I apologize for disappearing out of the blue. Ever since the last entry, I've been busy busy..and decided to go on hiatus until the school year was over.

However, I just stumbled upon something that totally blew me away and motivated me to blog about it. BLHDN is a line by anthropologie/urban outfitters that will focus on bridal wear. I had a good feeling I would like this collection considering it's coming from the anthropologie and such..and ugh, I LOVE IT! I had to blog about this, in order to keep a note to self, that I have to check blhdn, the day I shop for my wedding dress. The collection will be on sale starting this valentine's day, but til then here's a sneak peak of my favourite dresses found on Glamour magazine.

I'm in a little bit of a hurry to run out right now, so I'll leave it at this. Make sure you check out their website here bldn.com (PS. Don't you just love their website too? The website, the clothes, the song..everything is just too lovely)

Stay cozy

This winter season, I'm really into winter head accesories (hats, earmuffs, berets) and keeping every part of my body warm. What I really want at the moment are knitted earwarmers. Here are a few that I like and compiled for you:
Zara; Bleudame; Stellas Corner on Etsy; Modcloth; Asos
I think they would look great paired with other knits (scarf, sweater, leggings), or with a long wool jacket and a colourful scarf. How would you wear earwarmers?

And this is what else I want in headwear, a rabbit-ears usamimi headband!

Triciawillgoplaces; modcloth
It's supposed to be becoming quite the trend overseas..it's adoreable isn't it? I did a quick search on google, and there's many tutorials on how to DIY. Here's one by Violet LeBeaux. Unfortunately, I suck at home ed and would most probably fail trying to make one :(. What do you think? Are they too childish looking?

So bright and loud

I think it was beginning of last year, the cover to this magazine featured this model wearing this amazing electric blue sequinned skirt. I immediately fell in love with it, and ever since I've always wanted a similar skirt. Unfortunately, it wasn't my magazine and I forgot the specific issue or magazine the photo was from, and thus couldn't track down the skirt :(.

Today, I came across this photo from The Blonde Salad's lookbook here and WOW..this just reignited my love for electric blue sequins. She pairs the shorts very well and looks amazing! I think blue sequins are perfect for new years celebration :), I'm going to go on a hunt for a pair like these.

Before I head to bed, I'd like to leave you with this song...

My favourite song from Tokyo Police Club's latest album.

Goodnight now!

I like to eat, do you?

This past Monday I went to Guu with my boyfriend and some friends, and although it wasn't my first time visiting, it continues to be an awesome experience and thus felt the need to blog about it :P. If you haven't heard this enough, "guu is guud", in fact VERY VERY "guud". So what makes this little hotspot so freaking amazing? The food, the service and the atmosphere. First of, although the portions are sorta small (well they're meant to be tapas, and not a whole meal), each dish is deeeeeelish. Although I've had a lot of jap food before, nothing comes close to this. My goal is to try everything on the menu :). Second, all the staff are very friendly and very attentive. With most restaurants I find that once they get really busy, service starts to disintegrate (which is understandable, but still). But with Guu, they seem to always be busy but service seems to stay excellent. Thirdly (and a seller point for me), the atmosphere is..electrifying. The servers have alot to do with creating the noise and the scene. There's this energy that seems to flow in the restaurant that is CONTAGIOUS. All the staff seem to constantly be yelling things in jap, and although you have no idea what the heck they're saying..you can't help but laugh and yell with them. When we went on Monday night, this girl was celebrating her birthday and at one point, the servers just stopped to clap and sung her happy birthday..the whole restaurant just paused and sang along. Is it necessary for me to mention that she looked like she was having an amazing time?

One thing to keep in mind when visiting though, is that the restaurant opens at 5pm, does not take reservations and there's usually a wait. The first time we went, we went a little bit before they opened so we were in the first batch of people who got sat. This time we went, there was a 3 hour wait..outside the restaurant. However, they'll glady take down your name and number and call you back when a table becomes available, so you can roam around the area if you'd like (which is what we did).

Anyhow, what's a restaurant/food review without pictures right? The pictures are from my previous visit and from my visit on Monday. I was too busy eating away both times, and thus didn't take pictures of all the dishes. Enjoy!

On the first day of christmas, my true love sent to me

Five more days to christmas! It's finally hitting me that christmas is around the corner. Aaaaaahhh! A frantic me is running around in my head because I still have so much christmas shopping left to do..crap crap crapp. In another note, my boyfriend sorta accidentally gave me part of my christmas present on Friday. I walked into his room to find this...

An awesome jewelry tree, finger puppets, something wrapped, and a christmas card with my name on it! He wasn't expecting me to stop by that day and hadn't finish wrapping (and wasn't smart enough to hide it!). But I didn't mind seeing what he got me, so whatevs. The jewelry tree and the finger puppets are awesomeeee! I've wanted a jewelry tree for a while now, but never found one that I really liked..but this one is pretty cool :). I wish it had a few more branches to display more jewelry, but it's alright. The finger puppets are so cuteee! I was such a happy child the rest of the day..it's kinda crazy how well he knows me, and knows exactly what would catch my attention.

Playing with the finger puppets :)
I would share with you what I got him, but I don't want him to find out and spoil the surprise :). What's everybody getting their significant other?

On a compleeeeetely seperate note, I just read this article here, and it makes me sooo sad and so ANGRY! =@@@@. Shame on people! If you live in Toronto, and have visited Chinatown, it's very probable that you've passed by and seen Marky wheels, a limbless man playing the keyboard on the streets of Dundas and Spadina. While his ability to play the keyboard without any limbs is impressive..what really shines through is his enthusiastic attitude. A few months ago, I read this article here, and was reallly touched by his story. He's such an inspiration and has such a great outlook in life. BUT NOW, thanks to these fdsklfjslkdfjoie stupid COWARDS..he has now been robbed not only of the little money he makes, but of his spirit and faith in people. I'm so maddd..I wish I could find these thieves and break them into little pieces!!  How can someone be so cruel..why are people like these allowed to breath the same air we breath? aarrrrgh!

Anyways, end of rant here. If I continue, I'm going to go to bed an angry child.

Shopping haul: Velvet and prints

I went to yorkdale yesterday with the intention of purchashing these Fryes:
I've been eyeing these for a while now, but they go for $280 and thus decided to wait on them. But in celebration of me doing well on my exams, I gave in and decided to let myself splurge. Unfortunately, B2, Browns and Capezio were all sold out of this specific style and colour :(. I wish I could have checked Little Burgundy and Davids, but we were in a hurry to catch a movie, so we had to go. Nevertheless, I had a great shopping day yesterday.

Costa Blanca: $30

The straps are removable and looks good worn both strapless or with straps. However, what really attracted me about the dress though, was the colour and the material. Luxurious purple velvet.  I love velvet..but I've never owned anything velvet..until now. teeheehee

Costa Blanca: $20 (after 40% off)

I lovee the print on this on this one. And I guess you can't really tell, but this is a jumper and not a dress. What I don't like about this is that it doesn't have a zipper, which means that I have to squeeze my bum in order to pull it over. I'm having trouble deciding whether I can wear this during the winter or not. It definitely looks very spring/summer. But what if I paired it with a cardigan? What do you think?

Zara: $70
and tadaaaa. I've been yearning for a school or everyday type of satchel like the Mulberry Alexa or the Proenza Schouler PS1 bag (but without that price tag) and I finally found this! Not as perfect as the Alexa or as the PS1 bag, but will do for now. The picture looks purple, but it's actually burgundy. It's great because it makes a great school bag with all its different compartments. I put a folder in there, and it fit perfectly!

I was running low on my shiseido pureness cleanser and decided to take advantage of the sephora beauty insider coupon to purchase Fresh's soy face cleanser. I haven't started using it yet, but it's supposedly multifunctional because it can be used to remove eye makeup.. It has great reviews on makeupalley, so I'm excited to try it!

I don't remember the exact prices of these because I bought them last weekend, but I had to pick a second item to meet the $40 min. to use the voucher. I picked Tend Skin, a solution to get rid of ingrowns.

And while composing this post, I also just purchased these online:

Miss Sixty Stacey: $249, on sale for $80
Personally, I prefer closed toe heels more than open toe. But I think these might be quite adoreable. I can't wait to receive them! What do you think?
